Prisma's partnership with Voith Paper Automation (VPAT) dates back to 1992, before
the purchase of Impact Systems by Voith Sulzer in 1999. Impact Systems was combined
with Voith Sulzer's process automation group to form a new and powerful paper
industry process automation company.

As well as representing VPAT for equipment sales, Prisma provides consultancy
and engineering support for VPAT’s products:
- OnQ quality control systems (QCS)
- Cross Directional (CD) electric infrared drying systems
- CD caliper control systems
- CD basis weight control systems
- CD and MD steam shower moisture control systems control systems
- CD re-wetting moisture control systems
Well known as the world's leading supplier of IR drying systems, VPAT have now
installed over 200 QCSs on all grades of paper and board. The recent launch of
of the OnQ product has been a major step forward in the type of system architecture
commonly used in the paper industry. VPAT's SSD basis weight sensor with DynaComp
provides a quantum leap in basis weight measurement accuracy and has vastly improved
control of basis weight and coat weight.

The ever-increasing demands by customers for improved CD control and production
optimisation have resulted in constant product development. Recent examples are:
- ModuleTherm caliper control with 38mm CD zone resolution at power levels of 2.5kW/zone
- ModuleJet CD basis weight control using Voith's dilution headbox with in-line
consistency measurement
- CD coat weight control
VPAT is committed to being a leader in paper and board process automation and
Prisma continues to support VPAT in the UK to achieve this goal.
