Ryeco are based near Atlanta USA and their products have been tremendously successful
in filling some of the gaps where previously there was nothing which adequately
met customers' needs.
Prisma has represented Ryeco since 1999 and provides customers with products,
installation and maintenance support services for:

- Web Edge Marking Systems (up to 6 colours)
- Web Edge Crack Detection Systems
- Unwind/Rewind Control Systems
- High temperature Web Break Detection Systems
- Sheet-on-Fabric Break Detection Systems
- Prisma is a distributor of Ryeco edge marking inks
Ryeco's Edge Marking Systems can be incorporated in Ryeco's Edge Crack Detection
System or operate as a stand-alone system when interfaced with other external
devices such as On-line Web Inspection Systems, Splice Detectors, Skip Coat Detectors
etc. Both Edge Crack Detection and Marking Systems can automatically track the
edge of the web or be supplied as manually adjustable systems. A range of single
sided, single-lane or multi-lane edge marking systems are also available for press
room, converter etc applications.
The Edge Crack Detection System detects edge defects on both front and back edges
of the web, including fold-overs and non-separated edge cracks. By colour coding
the edge mark (say on the tending side) the operator is able to see whether the
defects are on the front edge or back edge. By detecting edge cracks, costly and
time consuming 'bursts' and/or sheet breaks can be minimised on the downstream
process - eg reeler/re-winder.
Ryeco's Unwind Control System also incorporates automatic edge tracking of the
web and advanced mark reading technology to detect the edge marks applied to the
edge of the web on the upstream process. The winder operator is alerted as a fault
approaches. Winder speed can be reduced manually OR automatically, thus minimising
the possibility of a web break. The system is capable of stopping a reeler/re-winder
within +/- 1m in the machine direction of the fault.
Ryeco's edge marking and mark reading technology provides cost effective solutions
for reducing waste and improving quality.
Ryeco's range of SBD 9000 sheet break sensors have been designed to work in totally
enclosed hoods at temperatures up to 204 deg. C. A patented air purge system keeps
the detector lenses clean and cools the electronics.
Ryeco's Sheet-on-Fabric Break detection systems are able to detect all colours
of webs against all colours of wet and dry felt fabrics, thereby enabling the
process to be controlled more quickly and efficiently than before.
